It looks like the much-hyped Google Phone will have to remain little more than a fantasy for now. Analyst Gene Munster has gone on the record stating his beliefs that his company is working on software to run services on cell phones, nothing more.
“We believe Google is working with, not against, Apple in the mobile world,” Munster explained in a research note to clients. This would seem to corroborate what the Google has previously publicly stated.
“Mobile is an important area for Google and we remain focused on creating applications and establishing and growing partnerships with industry leaders to develop innovative services for users worldwide. However, we have nothing further to announce,” a spokesperson said last week.
Even with these strong statements we will likely still see more on a fantasy google phone in the future.
