It is official that the Apple iPhone will NOT work in Canada. Many have attempted to place their existing Rogers Wireless SIM card into the phone only to find an invalid SIM card error. Not only can the iPhone’s phone features not be used, but the iPhone’s WiFi and iTunes features are disabled as well until the iPhone is activated.
Websites and groups have been claiming that it is possible to unlock the iPhone so it can be used on networks other than AT&T but all have been confirmed as fakes at this point. There is still no confirmed date by Rogers Wireless as to when the iPhone will be available in Canada. Canadians are stuck waiting indefinitely for now, and those anxious Canadians who purchased iPhones and brought them up from the United States are stuck with some very expensive paper weights.

I think it was a HUGE mistake for apple to choose at&t for there only provider. Not only are they missing all of the market in canada but they are also causing people that are supporting the iphone up her in canada to start thinking about going to a diffrent cellphone because of the wait and time it amay take. I am going to wait for it to release in canada so i am trulely a die hard fan and i am stoked for its release her but i still think it was a mistake for apple to limit there mobility.
