Remember Connect Four? Four Free is a take on this classic game where you try to align four chips of the same colour. Four Free stays true to the classic Connect Four with the red and black coloured chips. The goal of the game is align four of your chips either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Four Free allows users to play against a computer on three levels of difficulty (easy, medium, or hard). Please note, “hard” is actually hard…very hard. Overall this game is great, easy to use, and most importantly…its FREE (as the name indicates). The game has ads on the very bottom of the playing screen, but only when you are connected to the internet. Check it out on the iTunes App Store!

“Search by Voice” capabilities have been added to the iPhone by Google. Google Mobile App 0.3.142, a free iPhone application offered by Google, allows users to speak into the phone to search. Preliminary tests have shown that that words and phrases are correctly recognized about 80% of the time. Best results are obtained when you speak slowly and distinctly (you know, pretending to talk like a computer…).  The Google Mobile App also includes the ability to search by location; whereby users can complete a google search with results relative to where they are based on their current GPS position. This is especially handy when searching for things like restaurants. You can download the application directly from iTunes or from the Apps Store application on your iPhone.

Arriving with the launch of the T-Mobile G1 is the Google Android Market; a mobile application store for Android powered devices. The store will be based on a completely open market concept. Anyone can put there applications online with no middleman, unlike the Apple App Store- where applications must actually be approved by Apple. Android Market will literally be a “market” where developers can directly offer their products to Android users. There has not yet been talk surrounding prices for apps and whether apps can be sold. At this point, apps will all be free until the end of the year.Android Market
